The Araranguá Campus’ Medicine program, created in 2017, is structured in modules, where contents, skills and attitudes are developed in an articulate manner. This provides students with a global, integrated and practice-oriented approach to the learning process, facilitating learning and the long-term acquisition of important concepts. This structure also enables small group work, which enriches the learning experience and streamlines assessments.
Since the first semester, the program’s curriculum prioritizes community-based learning, offering students both practical knowledge and theoretical depth on the complex issues pertaining to medical care.
UFSC Araranguá medicine graduates emerge as well-rounded professionals with a humanistic, critical, reflective, and ethical education. They are equipped to navigate health and disease processes across various levels of care, focusing on health promotion, illness prevention, recovery support, and rehabilitation from an integrated care perspective. With a deep sense of social responsibility and commitment, they will actively promote the overall well-being of individuals.
