Convidamos a comunidade acadêmica para participar da palestra “Utilização de laboratórios remotos no apoio ao ensino e aprendizagem de Ciência, Tecnologia, Engenharia e Matemática. Exemplos baseados no VISIR” com o prof. Gustavo Ribeiro Alves do Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Instituto Politécnico do Porto – Portugal.

Palestrante:

Gustavo Ribeiro Alves graduated in 1991 and obtained an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. degree in Computers and Electrical Engineering in 1995 and 1999, respectively, from the University of Porto, Portugal. He is a professor at the Polytechnic of Porto – School of Engineering, since 1994. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 conference and journal papers with referee process. He has also been involved in several national & international research projects, having worked in the IST PEARL project (Practical Experimentation through Accessible Remote Laboratories), from 2000 till 2003, and coordinated the ALFA RexNet project (Remote Experimentation Network), from 2005 till 2006. He is now involved in the Physics LabFARM project, which aims to deploy remote experiments on physics, on his institution, at a large scale. Recently (2012), he has co-edited a book, together with Javier Garcia-Zubia, from the University of Deusto, Spain, entitled “Using Remote Labs in Education”, which gathers 22 chapter contributions from worldwide experts in the field.
